Busbar Trunking Manufacturer Shares: Commissioning Precautions for Low-Voltage Switchgear

Busbar trunking system manufacturers share the following commissioning precautions for low-voltage switchgear: conduct a comprehensive equipment inspection, perform insulation testing, carry out step-by-step commissioning, and ensure the enclosure remains clean and well-ventilated. By adhering to these guidelines, the safe operation of the low-voltage switchgear can be ensured.

Low-voltage switchboards are common power distribution equipment widely used in industrial and commercial settings. During the commissioning of low-voltage switchboards, there are several important considerations that both manufacturers and users need to pay close attention to. This article shares insights from busbar trunking system manufacturers to help you carry out low-voltage switchboard commissioning more effectively.

First, busbar trunking system manufacturers recommend conducting a comprehensive inspection of the equipment prior to commissioning. Ensure that all components of the low-voltage switchgear are properly installed, securely connected, and free from looseness or damage. Pay particular attention to the correct wiring of the cables to prevent safety hazards such as arcing or short circuits.

Secondly, during the commissioning process, attention must be paid to electrical insulation testing. Busbar trunking system manufacturers recommend using professional insulation-testing instruments to assess the insulation performance of low-voltage switchgear. This enables the timely detection of insulation defects or leakage currents, allowing for prompt corrective action and ensuring the safe operation of the low-voltage switchgear.

In addition, busway manufacturers recommend conducting commissioning in a phased and sequential manner, testing each functional module in a prescribed order. Begin with basic electrical functions, such as power supply input and circuit breaker operation, then progressively test other modules, including lighting and power outlets. This systematic approach helps to identify and resolve issues in an orderly fashion, thereby minimizing confusion and unexpected complications during the commissioning process.

During commissioning, busbar trunking system manufacturers also advise maintaining cleanliness and adequate ventilation around low-voltage switchgear. A clean environment helps prevent dust and foreign objects from entering the switchgear, thereby safeguarding its proper operation. At the same time, effective ventilation reduces the temperature inside the switchgear, extending its service life.

In summary, the commissioning of low-voltage switchgear is a meticulous and complex process that requires close collaboration between the manufacturer and the user. By conducting thorough inspections, performing insulation tests, carrying out step-by-step commissioning, and maintaining cleanliness and adequate ventilation, it is possible to ensure the proper operation and safety of the low-voltage switchgear.

Zhenjiang Ximenzi Conducts EHS Professional Knowledge and Internal Trainer Training

On December 12, Zhenjiang Siemens invited a professional instructor from Shanghai Qian’an Environmental Protection Company to deliver EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) expertise training and internal trainer development sessions. More than 20 participants, including heads and supervisors of the Production Department, equipment administrators, and selected frontline employees, attended the training. The curriculum covered mechanical safety safeguards, hazard identification, and risk assessment, with an introduction to practical tools such as energy control and lockout/tagout procedures. During the session, the instructor enhanced trainees’ understanding of how unsafe behaviors lead to accidents by showing short animated videos on behavioral safety. This training marked the first phase of the company’s EHS program; going forward, Zhenjiang Siemens will implement a comprehensive EHS training plan as scheduled to further elevate the company’s EHS management standards.
