“Safety” in power supply refers to being free from environmental threats, hazards, injuries, and losses. It means that humanity as a whole coexists harmoniously with its living environment and resources, without any hidden risks or harmful factors. Safety plays an indispensable role throughout the production process and is inextricably linked to safe production. Neglecting safety and security measures will inevitably lead to casualties and occupational diseases, causing suffering for workers, bringing disaster to their families, inflicting losses on enterprise operations, and resulting in adverse social repercussions for the enterprise.
Power supply “Safety” refers to being free from environmental threats, hazards, injuries, and losses. It means that humanity as a whole coexists harmoniously with its living environment and resources, without any hidden risks or harmful effects. Safety plays an indispensable role in the production process and is inextricably linked to safe production. Neglecting safety and security measures will inevitably lead to casualties and occupational diseases, causing suffering for workers, bringing disaster to their families, inflicting losses on enterprise operations, and generating negative social repercussions for the enterprise.

The safety of power-supply enterprises is vital to the safety of life and property of the Chinese people; it bears on the overall agenda of administrative reform, innovative development, and social stability. Ensuring safe production and safeguarding the lives and property of the people represent the fundamental interests of the broad masses, reflect the advancement of advanced productive forces, and align with the forward direction of advanced culture. Effectively managing safety in production enterprises is a crucial area of study for comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society and promoting the coordinated, all-round development of the socialist economy. It also constitutes an integral part of implementing the strategy of sustainable development. Safe production in the power-supply sector is directly linked to the survival and development of enterprises. If safety management is inadequate, it can lead to casualties and occupational diseases, jeopardizing workers’ lives and health and inflicting substantial losses on production. It is thus evident that, in order to develop the socialist market economy, it is imperative to strengthen workplace safety and labor protection.
According to available data, more than 90% of accidents are attributable to failures in the implementation of safety measures. Therefore, power supply enterprises must firmly uphold the principle that “safety comes first.” Safety management in production has long been a guiding principle of the Party and the state in the course of industrial development and construction, and it is also a fundamental national policy of our country. Safe production in the power supply system is a crucial area of occupational safety, an essential component of both the material and cultural progress of the power industry, and a basic guideline for enhancing the productive capacity of China’s power enterprises over the long term.
Power supply The Importance of Safe Production
1. Safe production in the power sector is a requirement for economic efficiency.
Revenue is the foundation for the survival and development of a power supply enterprise; it is the primary source of economic and social benefits and, in essence, the lifeline of the company. Safe power production is the cornerstone and guarantee of our company’s electricity generation. If safety in power production is inadequate, power output will inevitably decline, various costs will rise, and overall costs will increase while efficiency and profitability will fall. It is thus evident that sound safety management and development are also the basis for achieving favorable socio-economic outcomes.
2. Power supply Safe production is an inherent requirement of the “separation of power generation and grid operations, coupled with competitive bidding for grid access.” As China’s power management system continues to deepen its reform—particularly with the implementation of the “separation of power generation and grid operations, coupled with competitive bidding for grid access”—higher standards are being set for our company’s technical and operational safety in the power system. It is hard to imagine that a power plant plagued by frequent safety incidents and unable to generate electricity could ever secure more dispatching assignments, obtain more high-quality power-supply contracts, or earn the trust of the dispatch authorities; such a plant would inevitably be ruthlessly eliminated in an increasingly fierce market competition. Conversely, if a power plant can ensure safe and reliable power generation, it will naturally gain the trust of the dispatch authorities, secure more generation schedules, and enhance its competitive edge.
